About the accessibility of our website

Our aim is to meet all priority 2 requirements of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1). Meeting this standard is commonly known as Level AA compliance. Full details are listed in the accessibility statement

Adjust the text size

The website has the facility to view pages with larger fonts, or to view it with a simplified format without images. These are intended to improve the accessibility options for visitors to the website.

Colour scheme

Careful consideration has been taken when chosing the colours on the site. The contrast ratio of text on colour meets accessibility guidelines.

Downloading documents (Adobe)

Documents are made available in a variety of formats for website users to download. Where appropriate, guidance will be offered on how to download these.

Images

Alternative text (alt text) has been added to all images on our website. The text contained in the alt text will depend on the reason for the image.

Legibility

If you are experiencing problems with legibility, or you find that this site is uncomfortable to read, you may wish to consider changing some of the default settings of your browser. This will alter the way web pages appear on your screen. You can also select the text only version of the site.

Navigating this site

You can move to different pages by using main categories on the menu bar on the left of each page; move your cursor over the underlined text (or hyperlinked image) and you will notice the cursor change to a hand.

The skip to content link at the top of all web pages moves the focus to the start of the main content on a page.
