The Active Life programme is a scheme for medical professionals to refer their patients to when they consider their patient's quality of life will be enhanced by additional activity, which is provided by independent exercise in the K2 Gym.
It is for patients with medical conditions e.g. cancer, cardio issues, ortho/musculoskeletal, MS, diabetes etc. It is NOT a weight management programme as this is catered for by the Weight off Workshop (WoW).
Where patients have been referred for both Active Life and WoW it is recommended that they attend the WoW first before participating in Active Life. This gives them the opportunity to establish an attendance discipline plus reduce body weight thus reducing loading on the patient's joints while exercising (particularly important for patients with a BMI of 30+).
