Support to quit smoking

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you will ever do for your health. It's much easier to stop smoking when you get the right support and, with professional help, you're 3 times as likely to quit for good.

In West Sussex we have lots of options to choose from.

You can get free support for 12 weeks from specialist advisors in our Quit4Wellbeing service, local Wellbeing Hubs and from participating GP surgeries and pharmacies. Support can be face-to-face or over the telephone.

Your stop smoking advisor will talk you through the range of stop smoking medications available and provide you with free quit aids, such as vapes, Nicotine replacement (eg, patches, gum or lozenges). Other smoking cessation medication may also be available (this may be subject to a prescription charge unless you are exempt).

Smokefree digital app

A new digital app is now available to West Sussex residents over the age of 18.  The app provides free digital support and 24/7 access to trained stop smoking advisors and includes various features including progress tracking for health improvements, money saved, and cigarettes avoided.

Alongside comprehensive support which includes regular check-ins and follow-ups, users will receive a free 8-week vape starter kit delivered directly to their door to help manage cravings and ease the transition to a smoke-free life.

For more information and to download the app, visit the Smoke Free website.
